LJ is 5 years old today!
My dear sweet boy turns five today. It is so hard to believe he is already five! Where did all those years go?!? From my little baby (OK he was never really little since he started life at 10 pounds and 23 inches long but he was still a little baby) to my inquisitive little guy full of wonder, joy and zest for life. He is sweet, loving and cuddly and yet can get an impish grin on his face and be stirring things up in moments. His big brown eyes will melt anyone's heart and his smile will capture it. He still prefers things that are known to him and predictable but in the past few months he has branched out in his interests. He has started preschool and actually likes it (especially the science portion and he usually still remembers the lesson with great detail several weeks later) and even appeared in his first play this Christmas. He loves monkeys, pirates and music so when his siblings gave him a stuffed monkey dressed as a pirate that sings a song, he was delighted. Just a few weeks ago LJ took a leap in his learning and decided he wanted to learn to read. He is able to sound out some simple words now. He also figured out how to play songs on the piano with the fingering cues his teacher has given him. He loves it and it so proud of himself. He got a new book fro his birthday and was very interested in looking at not only the pictures but also the rows of words. 5 is going to be an incredible year for this little guy.
