Today was one of those wet, dreary kind of days. One of those that you wake up to rain, steady but light rain falls for most of the day and then it stops just in time for evening activities.
AJ had a football practice and L had dancing and they overlapped so they decided that they could each miss a bit and could then do both. AJ's football practice was a bit on the soggy side but they had a blast. Of course at the moment I had intended on leaving, I was in the park building bathroom with A-girl and when I got close to the field L came to tell me that AJ was crying (the two girls had run ahead of a toddling LJ who was slowed down by his rubber boots). He had taken a pass form h is coach in the forehead. I waited a few minutes and then walked over as we were now even later to leave. AJ didn't seem to care about having to leave although in hind sight I should have had him go back on the field for at least one more play as he didn't want to leave, was embarrassed that he had cried in front of his team mates and it likely appeared that things were worse than they really were. Poor AJ! Hopefully his Momma taking him off the field to get his sister to dance during a emotional moment for him, didn't make him lose his intense sportsman image.
It started off as a football evening for all.......
The girls watched and played form their dry perch.
LJ found a puddle on the ball diamond near the field the boys were playing in and had a wonderful time exploring and getting very muddy.
